Neopets: Faerie’s Hope
Dean Ravenola led the Narrative Team who executed the exciting storyline for this mobile game, where players jump into the world of Neopia playing as an amnesiac Faerie who awakes on a tiny sliver of Faerieland, one last piece of it that is somehow still floating in the sky… Why didn’t this piece of Faerieland fall with the rest of it during the events of Faeries Ruin? How did this lone Faerie survive all this time? And just who is she? To discover the answers to these questions and more, players must pick up the pieces of their fragmented memory, uncovering a shrouded past all while rebuilding their very own New Faerieland and meeting an eclectic group of Neopian friends along the way!
For the Neopets: Faerie’s Hope game, Dean Ravenola was responsible for maintaining lore accuracy, expanding upon the events of one of the most popular Neopian plots, planning story beats, and reviewing all scripts and narrative content. This project also required coordinating with both the Netdragon team based out of China that developed the game as well as the Jumpstart Narrative, Design, and Art teams working on the game from the LA studio.

Neopets: Upper Deck Trading Cards
Dean Ravenola acted as a narrative consultant to the team developing Neopets Trading Cards at The Upper Deck Company! Many of the card mechanics were meticulously built to mirror the features or abilities of characters and items from upcoming Neopets storylines.
Neopets: Rare Art Charity Auction
Dean Ravenola was overjoyed to have a chance to help out on this project by writing some of the descriptions for the wonderful artwork being auctioned off. The Neopets Charity Auction managed to raise over $100,000, and all of the proceeds will be distributed evenly to four non-profit organizations chosen with Neopets users in mind: World Wildlife Fund (WWF), The Trevor Project, Project HOPE, and Eden Reforestation Project.
Neopets Advent Calendars 2021 & 2022
Dean Ravenola handled the Narrative Design responsibilities for the 2021 and 2022 Neopets Advent Calendars, which included writing and reviewing scripts for the numerous comics as well as the animated video we released. This task involved collaborating with other narrative designers as well as production, art, and programming teams to:
Create comprehensive comic and video storyboards
Develop visually striking comic panel and video art
Produce polished and smooth animations
Introduce new characters and expand upon Neopets lore

Festival of Neggs
2021 Storyline
Dean Ravenola took the lead on the 2021 Festival of Neggs Neopets event. For this annual event, Dean pitched an idea to the team for an exciting new storyline involving several classic Festival of Neggs characters such as Topsi and Mira. After receiving approval, he developed scripts, wireframes, art requests, and went on to coordinate with production, art, and programming to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Festival of Neggs 2021 Side Quest
Additionally, Dean Ravenola also developed a hidden side quest in which Topsi challenged the user to find him ten times throughout the Festival of Neggs event. Users who succeeded in finding Topsi ten times across Neopia were rewarded with special bonus prizes.
The Festival of Neggs 2021 storyline reinvigorated Topsi as a character within the Neopets community, and spawned quite a bit of fan-made artwork, comics, cosplays, and memes involving the cybunny.
2021 Neopets April Fools Event
Every year the Neopets Team picks a fun practical joke to play on users. In 2021, the Neovision+ idea pitched by Dean Ravenola was chosen by the team. This idea involved advertising a fake streaming service featuring spoof shows that combined Neopian characters with pop culture. The team even put together a youtube video for Neovision+!
The Defenders of Neopia: End of Flash movie spoof was a parody of the Marvel Avengers Endgame film and incorporated Neopet superhero characters the Defenders.
Synopsis: After Heermeedjet and Meerouladen make off with the wand of the Dark Faerie, the Defenders of Neopia are dispatched to retrieve it! However, the team of heroes quickly find themselves ambushed by deadly foes like Lady Frostbite, Iron Skeith, and Khan the Unstoppable. Will Judge Hog be able to keep the Defenders together, or will the team fracture and fall apart as they are overwhelmed by villains? More importantly, could this all truly be the work of Malkus Vile as Lightning Lenny suspects, or is someone else pulling the strings from the shadows?
The Doctor Roo television show was a parody of the iconic British series Doctor Who and featured the tinkerer Neopets character Doctor Neggistential.
Synopsis: When a mechanical-negg loving inventor unintentionally creates a time machine out of an old phone booth, he finds himself trapped in the past, and then the future! Follow along as this eccentric blumaroo scientist stumbles through comic misadventures that take him to the farthest corners of time and space!
The Kreludorian television show was a parody of the popular Star Wars show The Mandalorian on Disney plus and featured Neopets characters such as Techo Captain Telhan.
Synopsis: Five years after the fall of Sloth, lone spacefaring Techo Captain Telhan is travelling across the galaxy as a deliveryman. Little does this solitary Captain know that his voyages have set him on a collision course with the most precious cargo that he will ever carry...
The Spookynatural television show was a parody of the cult classic Supernatural and featured two Neopets characters, the monster-hunting brothers Corbin and Kell.
Synopsis: Brought back for season 41, Spookynatural revolves around the exploits of brothers Corbin and Kell. As second generation monster hunters, these two siblings will encounter all sorts of ghouls and increasingly convoluted storylines as they continue to follow in their father’s footsteps!

2022 Neopets April Fools Event
Dean Ravenola helped facilitate the 2022 Neopets April Fools Event when the team chose to poke fun at delivery services with a spoof Neopian delivery app called “DungDash”. He came up with the app tagline and description as well as the parody reviews and various Neopian restaurant blurbs displayed on the April Fools Day landing page. Dean Ravenola also collaborated with art and programming to finalize the DungDash app logo and the avatar prize granted to users who visited the landing page on April Fools Day.

The very first Vandagyre to ever compete in the Neopian Cup, Whimsi is levelheaded player known for her consistency on the field. She replaced Elbin Kroe as a forward on the Faerieland Yooyuball team in 2021.

The newest addition to Team Mystery Island, Tulay Ada is an agile Cybunny who worked hard to earn a place on her hometown team. She replaced Teylor Nix as a forward on the Faerieland Yooyuball team in 2021.

Strengths: Speed, Agility, Relentlessness
Weaknesses: Size, Poor judgement when angered
Despite his slight frame, Motor made a name for himself using his incredible speed and aggressive playstyle to break through defences. He's also quickly become notorious for being prone to fits of anger that can lead to hasty decisions, but perhaps this kind of impetuous gameplay might be just what Kreludor needs to reach the moon! He replaced Zenor Kevix as a forward on the Kreludor Yooyuball team in 2022.

Lili is a strapping young Uni with impressive positioning and footwork skills that can block even the most powerful shots on goal. Although she is a force to be reckoned with on the field, Lever actually has a very bashful nature. She replaced Ditan Colb as a forward on the Faerieland Yooyuball team in 2022.

Attributes: Inquisitive mind, extensive petpet knowledge, social anxiety.
Professor J. Kugar is the curator of a Neopian museum who happened to discover the existence of the Tyrannian petpet known as the Gruslen. Years later, he traveled to Neovia in search of another petpet that was worshipped by an ancient cult. Though he ran into some trouble with the locals, he managed to successfully discover a group of the negg-loving Talpidat petpets hidden in a secret underground chamber.
